Frigate NVR
What it does#
Frigate is an open-source NVR that runs real-time object detection locally — no cloud, no subscription. It processes RTSP camera feeds, labels detected objects (person, car, dog), and records clips on motion events. Far fewer false alerts compared to simple motion-detection tools like MotionEye.
